MENG Analysis provided cost estimating services on the City of Seattle Fire Station #33 in 2007 and 2008. Our cost estimators worked with the Architect, Seattle Fire Department, and associated mechanical, electrical and structural consultants to provide estimates at the SD, CD, and DD drawing levels for the renovation of the 570 square foot expansion of the existing Seattle Fire Station #33 in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood.
This project included remodel and improvements to the beanery, restrooms, apparatus bay, watch, bunker gear and EMS areas. A seismic retrofit was incorporated to bring the station up to modern standards. The mechanical and electrical systems were also updated to make this a state of the art facility.
The renovation of Fire Station #33 was part of the City of Seattle program to renovate or construct new fire stations to meet current requirements for public safety. Besides the building renovation, other improvements to bring the site up to modern standards included a new temporary generator, concrete paving, and gate and drainage improvements.
