PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Centralia College constructed a new Student Commons Building called the TransAlta Commons in Centralia WA, which replaced the old student center building and Kemp Hall.

The new TransAlta Commons is designed to meet the needs of Centralia College and to provide a facility for the next 50 years of the college—incorporating effective learning environments, flexibility, low maintenance cost, and sustainability.

Energy efficiency was a key consideration in design, construction, and commissioning. This facility represents Centralia College's commitment to educational excellence for the diverse student body and programs, creating an inviting educational and social environment, fully integrating advanced technology and adaptability.

The TransAlta Commons project is designed, built, and commissioned to LEED Silver standards.
