PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project helped the University support the growing need to accommodate multiple related health sciences programs under a single roof. These programs include Biomechanical, Morphology, Wet Chemistry, Exercise/Fitness, Food and Nutrition, and Paramedic/EMT instructional labs and general classrooms and lecture hall.

The three story structure, plus mechanical penthouse is constructed of steel with a flat roof and parapet.  The mechanical systems currently consist of a 4-pipe hydronic system served by the campus central plant with a combination of chilled beam and radiant floor in the atrium and variable air volume (VAV) system serving the lab wing.

The MENG Analysis team proposed ten different floor finishes. The ceiling finishes include four types of acoustic tile, exposed ceilings, both perforated gypsum and metal as well as wood. LED direct/indirect pendant fixtures are proposed as the predominant lighting fixture.  Exterior wall finishes are comprised of brick with precast panels.

MENG Analysis developed $3,306,000 worth of cast saving proposals.
